Service Coordinator (Materials) - Part-time

We currently have a vacancy for a part-time Service Co-ordinator within our Multi Trade Division reporting directly to the Resource Manager (Materials). The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 2:00pm.

Summary of role:

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Answering calls from our trade operatives and inputting details of their material requirements onto our computer system to ensure on time delivery.
  • Assisting with the timely resourcing of ad hoc products required by operatives.
  • Answering calls from suppliers.
  • Making calls to suppliers sourcing materials not held in our warehouse.
  • Provision of general clerical and administrative support including wordprocessing, filing, maintenance of relevant records, telephone answering, taking and passing of messages, photocopying and maintaining records.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Excellent organisational & administrative skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy at all times.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritising workload and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Proven communication skills, written & verbal.
  • The ability to be both a self-starter & to work as part of a team.

Multi Trade Operative

Comserv are looking for Multi Trade Operatives to join our growing team. The ideal candidates will have not only their main trade as a Plumber or Carpenter but will also have proven experience undertaking a variety of jobs in a reactive maintenance environment.

Reporting to the Supervisor, your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Undertaking all aspects of repairs/maintenance work (given your skill set) to the required quality standards.
  • Assessing the work requirements when you get to site.
  • Communicating with the Call Centre in an accurate and timely manner via telephone to gain each job and to update the service co-ordinators with the work you believe is required and what you have subsequently undertaken.
  • Ensuring that you follow the Company’s safe working practices and safety procedures at all times.
  • Liaising with tennants on site regarding the work you are undertaking.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Previous multi-trade experience working within social housing would be an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Project Delivery Co-ordinator

We are looking for an organised and detail conscious individual with exceptional communication skills, previous experience and knowledge of project co-ordination and/or QS work, and ideally experience in bid writing, to join our successful Repairs, Maintenance and Planned Maintenance company based in Havant.

This role is an exciting opportunity to gain further exposure to both bid writing and project delivery. With an excellent level of written English, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to our bids by writing persuasive, client-focused content for tenders, reflecting the quality services our Company provides. You will be finding business opportunities, developing tenders and driving the administration and co-ordination of projects.

This will include taking ownership for collating, completing and submitting documents and clarifying information requests relating to the tendering process, as well as organising, distributing and ensuring timely return of tender documentation from sub-contractors & suppliers. Once a project is won, you will be involved in site set-up requirements, raising purchase orders and invoices for sub-contractors, collating valuations, administering variations and extensions to time, cash flow & retention administration, collating O&M manual information, programme updates and collating sign off paperwork. The role will also involve attending pre-start and site meetings and taking minutes/summaries of discussions.

Our ideal candidate is likely to hold a qualification such as HND or degree level in Quantity Surveying or Building, have some experience of bid management, together with an awareness of CDM regulations and HSE/O & M manual requirements and the ability to understand and manage the scope of works. Applicants with experience in other built environment situations will also be considered. GCSE English and Maths or equivalent are essential.

You will be a confident and articulate communicator with the natural ability to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders. You will have experience of drafting and reviewing written communications to deliver specific messages within tight deadlines, with the flexibility and strong time management skills to cope with several jobs running simultaneously. The role also requires you to be highly competent in MS Office software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant tools such as MS Project.

Data Analyst

Comserv have a requirement for a Data Analyst (temporary to possible unlimited term contract).

In this stand-alone role, you will work closely with our managers to design, build and maintain spreadsheets and reports which capture the required relevant business data, as well as assisting with data analysis in order to enable continuous improvement of company processes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Extraction of data from the company systems to create and maintain reports. The types of reports will include work/job activity, materials and stock values, as well as performance management, Health & Safety and training data.
  • Cleansing of the information used for reports and use of Vlookups, filters and pivot tables to manipulate the data into the format required by managers, as well as assisting with analysis of the findings and recommendation of improvements.
  • Providing back-up support to the IT and Finance team employees.
  • Assisting with general data management in line with GDPR.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skill set:

  • Familiar with bespoke databases
  • Advanced Excel Skills (experienced in creating/using macros, pivot tables, Vlookups etc)
  • Analytical approach to data, demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy at all times
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organisational/time management and administration skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines

Approved Electrician

Due to company growth we are looking for full-time Electricians who have 17th edition or equivalent experience to undertake electrical repairs and maintenance work.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Fault-finding

  • Replacing accessories such as sockets, switches, external lighting etc.

Maintenance Supervisor - Reactive

We have a full-time vacancy for the position of Supervisor within our Reactive Maintenance & Voids Team.

In this role you will be managing the work of our operatives to ensure that repairs are undertaken in an efficient and cost effective manner and in compliance with health & safety policies and statutory legislation.

As Supervisor, you will use your experience of daily team management to co-ordinate, motivate, coach and train team members to meet the required performance standards. You will provide technical advice, support and guidance to operatives and escalate issues when necessary.

Our ideal candidate will have good technical knowledge in the following trades:

  • Plumbing including new bathroom fitting, drainage.
  • Carpentry including new kitchen installation and design.
  • Glazing and window installation.
  • Ground works and fencing.

The ideal candidate will also have previous experience/knowledge with:

  • Previous supervisory experience and good technical knowledge (preferably having worked through from Trade Operative to Supervisor).
