At Comserv we recognise the importance of attracting and retaining diverse and previously under-represented people to reflect the Community which we serve.
We are signed up to the Armed forces Covenant and have received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze award. We advertise our vacancies on the Forces Families Jobs website which demonstrates our commitment to supporting the Armed forces Community.
We have taken on a number of Armed Forces Veterans across our staff. As of September 2025 we employ five military veterans across our workforce (3 from the Royal Navy and 2 from the Army). One is retraining as an Electrical Apprentice, one is a glazier, one is a plasterer, one is a Manager, one works in our Call Centre, and one works in our warehouse at Hilsea.
In addition, one of our Manager’s has a spouse serving in the Royal Navy, and a member of our HR team has a nephew who is serving in the Army, and one of our Resource Coordinators has a nephew who is an army veteran.
One of our case studies is about a Royal Navy veteran who wanted a change of career and to retrain as an Electrician. We employed Lee as an Electrician Improver and signed him up to complete his NVQ Level 3 which led to him gaining the experience he needed in order to become a fully qualified electrician.
We also support the annual Poppy Appeal in support of the Royal British Legion. Staff purchase and wear their poppies with pride, and we observe the two minutes silence on Remembrance day.
