Comserv supports the Apprenticeship Bus Roadshow for 2024 The Apprenticeship Bus Roadshow is an annual initiative organised by Shaping Portsmouth. Beginning in 2018, this event sees apprentices from local Portsmouth-based businesses visit a number of schools across the city, granting students a fantastic opportunity to engage with apprentices in-person, providing a first-hand insight into the world of apprenticeships and inspiring them to consider an apprenticeship as a future career option.
To promote this fantastic initiative, Shaping Portsmouth collaborated with Mediafleet and Stagecoach South to completely transform the Apprenticeship Bus with a full wrap. This ensured that the bus caught people’s attention as it drove around the city.
Comserv Former Apprentices hop on the Apprenticeship Bus
Two of Comserv’s staff - Tanjila Chowdhury who completed her CIPD Associate Diploma in Human Resources in 2023, and Cael Broadfoot who completed his NVQ in Carpentry last year, spent all three days on the Apprenticeship Bus during National Apprenticeship Week which was the 5th - 9th February 2024. Each day they visited secondary schools in Portsmouth and spoke with over 1000 students about the Apprenticeships we offer and their post-16 options. They were joined by 56 Apprentices and former Apprentices from 20 other organisations including PCC, the Armed Forces, Mountjoy, BAE Systems, Hythe Group, Pompey in the Community, and Havant & South Downs College. It was an excellent programme organised by Shaping Portsmouth which we were glad to support as part of our Social Value work within our Community.
The feedback received from the students who attended was very positive, with 73% saying the session had inspired them to consider an apprenticeship.

Comserv look forward to supporting the Apprenticeship Bus again next year.
