A void property in Leigh Park came back to us in almost it’s original state. It had clearly been well looked after by the tenants and been a much-loved family home. However it was very dated with an original 1950’s kitchen including open shelving, wood panelling, and a ‘hanging’ florescent light.
Comserv bring the void up to date
As the kitchen required replacing the new tenants were invited to choose from the 4 unit styles and worktop options, the 4 floor tile choices, and the 6 wall tile options that are offered within Portsmouth City Council’s scope of work. We also discussed with them what white goods they already owned to allow for a plan so those would fit into the kitchen.
The lounge still had the old ‘three bar’ heater and tile surround fireplace which needed removing.
The lounge and bedrooms were wallpapered so that all needed removing too.
The bathroom was also the original basin, toilet and bath with an antiquated shower.
Our Operatives were onsite for 4 weeks making this two bedroom property suitable for the next family.

The wallpaper in all rooms was removed, with walls then being made good and plastered where necessary and then mist coated ready for the tenants to put their own decoration on them.
The bathroom was updated with a new bath, basin, toilet, and extractor fan.
The gas fire in the lounge was removed, blocked up and skimmed, and new flooring was laid.
The old shed and greenhouse were removed and the garden returned to grass. Both the front and back gardens were then strimmed and tidied.
